For this traditional house in the village of Swainswick, the client wanted to modernise their kitchen.
One large kitchen space has been created by combining the original kitchen and study. This layout has opened up views to the beautiful garden and it allows light to enter from multiple directions.
A sliding fire door that connects the kitchen to the rest of the house can open into a pocket within the wall so the doorway creates a visual link between the two spaces.
Within the kitchen, sliding doors conceal a pantry and a utility space that houses the washer / dryer and the new heating system. Underfloor heating has been installed in the kitchen along with a new radiator.
Bespoke, painted timber units have been fitted with a beautiful stone worktop and porcelain splashback. We designed fixed bench seating which provides concealed storage below fold-up panels, with hand-made cushions that we sourced.
New floor finishes (stone and timber) have been laid throughout the ground floor along with the redecoration of each room using our recommended colour palettes.
